Improved ASTM D3606 Analysis for Gasoline Quality Control
Benzene and toluene are widely used in gasoline to increase octane levels, but their concentration is strictly regulated due to health, safety and environmental concerns. Ethanol is commonly blended into gasoline to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, yet its presence can significantly complicate conventional benzene and toluene analysis using packed columns.
The GAS Benzene, Toluene & Ethanol Analyser provides an improved ASTM D3606 solution based on capillary column technology. By eliminating benzene–ethanol interference, the analyser delivers accurate and reproducible results for all components in a single run. The system uses backflush technology to protect the analytical column from heavy components and can optionally be combined with ASTM D5580 (aromatics) and ASTM D4815 (oxygenates) in one compact instrument.
