Reliable Impurity Analysis in Highly Corrosive Chlorine Gas

Chlorine is widely used in the production of disinfectants, polymers such as PVC, and numerous chemical intermediates. Due to its strong oxidising properties, chlorine gas is extremely corrosive, toxic and destructive to analytical equipment. Accurate impurity analysis therefore requires specialised analyser design and material selection to ensure both safety and long-term reliability.

The GAS Chlorine Gas Analyser is a custom-configured GC solution specifically engineered for analysing impurities in wet and dry chlorine gas. All wetted parts are manufactured from corrosion-resistant materials such as Dursan®-coated components, Hastelloy-C and specialised co-polymers. An optional high-inertness flush valve purges the sample path immediately after injection, minimising chlorine exposure and significantly extending analyser lifetime.
